Maybe You Would Have Had To Be There

But this is pretty funny! One last posting about convention...

All week long, every time I opened my purse to get a swap for someone, especially some nice person saying nice things to me about my blog - who I had never met before...I would find a wadded up toilet seat cover in my purse! I would have to pull it out - and apologize for it - before I could hand them the swap. I was mortified the first couple of times, then it was hilarious, then it was infuriating!! How embarrassing to keep pulling these things out in front of strangers! I knew BFF was behind it, but I was shocked that I NEVER once saw her do it!

See this embarrassing picture? Right after convention was over, I asked my group to meet me for a group photo. Sure enough, I pull out my camera and a toilet seat cover was in there! (Yes, they were all clean, new ones, don't worry!). So in front of my friends, I had to tell them the entire story of what had been happening ALL week! I'm sure they thought I was nuts!

See it wadded up on the floor ruining this picture? I know, just a little something to remember the week by.

Well, after this photo we went to dinner with friends and were out pretty late. When we returned to our hotel room, Kim could not find her key, so I opened the door and this is what I saw....

Damn toilet seat covers from the door to MY bed!

Tons of them wadded up and all over my bed and pillows!

Ya, very funny BFF! She suddenly had her camera out and was
doing her paparazzi thing, laughing her head off!

So I threw her down on the bed and started beating the crap out of her (all in fun, folks!) and she is still snapping away with her camera...oh, I know this will come back to haunt me in MDS form!! All the while she is telling me she didn't do it...ya whatever!

I started to clean up the mess so I could crawl in bed and low and behold there are notes written on toilet seat covers from...

KATHY!!!!!

CARLA!!!!!

And the real instigator - JULIE!!!!!!!!!! Who borrowed Kim's room key to finish off the toilet seat joke!

You girls are lucky I love you! Very, very funny...and your punishment is that you all have to have one recruit signed this week before the $99 promotion ends! Ha!

I Swapped With the Freaks!

Remember THIS posting? Well, I did it...I swapped with the Control Freaks and I lived to tell about it. It was great to meet so many of them at convention! They are a very nice group of ladies and I'm excited to be a part of them.

Teeny tiny Wendy Weixler holding up the sign. Even standing on the chair, you could barely see her! *Ü*

We laid all the cards around the table and walked around to pick them up. It was a bit like a merry-go-round for a couple minutes!

Awards & Recognition

I don't think any company does awards and recognition quite as well as Stampin' Up! does. When you earn something or experience a milestone, they let you know that they know and appreciate you - in a GRAND way!!!

This year I set some pretty lofty goals for myself and met them all! Believe me, no one was more shocked that I was!!

First up -I received an award for being #5 in first Level Promotions to Sr. Associate. My team had twenty eight 1st level promotions this year! Great work girls!!

When they called my name, I thought I was in the 4 Star category, so I quick like had my picture taken with the sign... but I actually was in the 5 Star category - the top level!!! Yahoo!!!

To stand on the stage with idols like Mary Fish, Dawn Griffith, Angie Kennedy Juda and the others was such an honor!

Founder's Circle was a huge surprise to me! I thought I made it for my award above but...

When they announced the top 100 Demonstrators of the Year and called my name for #56, I about fainted!!

You'll be glad to know I composed myself in time to take the beautiful flowers and the cash award! *Ü*

I cannot tell you what it meant to me to have my upline, Suzie Barns waiting for me at the bottom of the ramp. I didn't cry until I saw her!! She says she is not a great upline, but she's lying...she is there for me every time I call her! She is a huge part of my success this year! Love ya Suzie!!

I left awards night with a trip to Disney Orlando, a recruiting award, and a Demonstrator of the Year award, a trip to St. George for the Founder's Circle retreat, a Coach wallet, a Coach scarf, an awesome cash award, two bouquets of flowers, several pins and lots of FREE stamps!

Darling tiny desserts at the after party!

Throughout the three days we received several free things. Here we received a whole pack of Holiday Mini Catalogs!

I was lucky enough to have my wrist band colors appear on the big screen...and won a Prize Patrol gift!

Here is Kim with the Simply Sent gift we all received!

If you like FREE stuff...join my team and lets go to convention next year!

If you've ever thought about becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator as a business for for your own discount, the time is NOW!!

Until the end of July, you can sign up for just $99!! See all the details HERE.

If you have any questions about joining my team, e-mail me at

The Best Part of Convention

Everyone says the friendships they've made through Stampin' Up! are the most valuable part of their lives and I have to agree! A lot of really, really cool things happened this year and I have lots to share with you, but I am going to start with my friendships.

First up - BFF, Kim Sinclair. She is the best and I can't imagine going without her! We live far, far apart, so seeing her at convention is what I look forward to the most.

Plus, she is so helpful to me...she makes sure we safely cross the street, she listens when I'm not, she takes pictures for blog friends who stop to say hi, she tells me when it's time to go (cuz I have a teeny tiny talkin' problem!), she plays nasty tricks on me that are very embarrassing, she carried my Founders Circle bag for me all week ... ok, more on those two later. *Ü*

And she wonders why I call her the paparazzi!

Stampin' Up! is full of creative people, but I gotta tell ya...I think my friends are some of the MOST creative. Here I am with Lorri Heiling one of my very dear friends.

She brought me an Inking Idaho mug full of coffee beans and three of the most beautiful Gerber daisy pens you've ever seen. This picture does not really show how pretty they are!! Amazing talent in that little tiny body of hers! Love ya Lorri!!

A couple of my other friends Jennifer and Ronette have joked for years that they should start a Drinking Idaho spoof blog...like what my tutorials look like after a few drinks and laughs...but I have never really thought of a Drinking Idaho mug!! Hmmm...may have to start selling them. Ü

Diana Gibbs - Multiple time Artisan Award winning Diana Gibbs, that is...such a lovely lady and a hoot to around. Her BFF, Tracy didn't make it to convention this year, so she palled around with us, Rhonda Morgan and MAMMa. We loved every minute of it!

Works of art I will treasure forever from Diana!

I've been friends with Jennifer Picard for a couple years and finally got to meet her at Leadership in January. This was a BIG year for Jenn - she was one of the Artisan Award winners!!!!! Congratulations Jenn!!!

After dinner Saturday, we all went up to Jenn and her roomie Sandra Farrell's (who was an Artisan Award winner also!!!!!!!!!!) room to check out the Artisan Award swaps from the dinner they had with Shelli, the other winners and the Concept Artists. Unbelievable creativity, what a honor to have her share those with us! Thank you Jenn and congratulations again to you and Sandra!! My pix with Sandra was super dark, so I hope she sends me hers. Ü

My friend Connie Collins was another Artisan Award winner this year! Out of 40,000 demonstrators, thousands of them try out for Artisan Award but Stampin' Up! only chooses 10 winners...what were the odds that 4 of my friends made it this year! So cool!!! Congratulations Connie!

Only Connie would think of covering flip flops with fabric and iron on adhesive! Aren't these darling?! I've bought a lot of candy to match papers I've worked with, but I can honestly say I've never shopped for flips flops to match SU! fabric! Love this idea!!
